As a media designer, I offer design services in both print media (posters, brochures, flyers, letterhead & business cards) and digital media (Web sites, CD-ROM presentations & video editing). I am professionally trained and certified in the most current industry applications including Quark XPress, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive & InDesign), Macromedia (Flash, Dreamweaver & Director) . I am fluent in the use of HTML, XHTML and CSS with experience using JavaScript and CGI with PHP and MySQL.
I have been creating and preparing digital files professionally for print on both Macintosh and PC systems since 1993. In April of 2001, I became certified by completing training programs in Digital Publishing and Imaging (DPI) and Web/New Media Development. In June of 2000, I began freelancing as a Media Designer. My many clients include Blockbuster, YWCA, Frontrunners International, Toronto's Best, Sunbanque Island Tanning, and the CNIB. I have prepared layout and files for many projects ranging from catalogues and custom folders to business cards and brochures.
I began designing Web sites in 1995 and have been involved in many exciting Web based projects. My clients have included Nray Services Inc., GetInvited.ca: Toronto's Private Party Network, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, First Toronto Tower, Holistic Healing Arts Inc. and Blind Sailing Canada.
On top of my freelance activities I currently work as a teaching assistant at Toronto Image Works helping with the instruction of both their Photoshop and Advanced Photoshop classes. I also instruct several private sessions on Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) and accessibility tools.
