Message Therapy

Massage Therapy involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body for a therapeutic effect. The Registered Massage Therapist employs a range of hands-on techniques which help prevent and reduce stress and tension, as well as the discomfort of injuries or chronic conditions. Overall, massage leads to improved health and well being.

Massage Therapy is one of the regulated health professions and as such requires its practitioners to complete a 2200 hour training program, along with successful completion of entry to practice examinations. Upon registration a Massage Therapist is expected to continually improve their skills and knowledge base and abide by the regulations of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and the Regulated Health Professions.

Therapeutic Massage is RECOMMENDED FOR: reduction of stress, relief of muscle pain, stiffness, rehabilitation from car accidents & sports injuries, enhancing well-being, relaxation and discomforts of pregnancy

and IS EFFECTIVE IN THE TREATMENT OF: tendonitis, bursitis, repetitive strain injuries, strains, sprains & muscle spasms, headaches & migraines, arthritis & sciatica

YOU CAN EXPECT COMFORT AND SAFETY.

Massage Therapists have been trained to respond to a range of medical and non-medical conditions. On your first visit, you will be asked to complete a confidential medical health history form. In the treatment room, your therapist will review your health history with you and may obtain additional information for a clearer picture of your condition(s). This process which may involve some testing and assessment, will aid in the design of a treatment plan which suits your needs. Your Therapist will advise you on what to expect during the treatment, and then show you how to lie comfortably on the massage table.

YOU CAN EXPECT TO HAVE YOUR PRIVACY RESPECTED.

Your therapist will leave the room so that you may disrobe and cover yourself on the table. You may remove as little of your clothing as you wish.  During the treatment, you will be draped so that only the part of your body being treated is uncovered.

The therapist's role is to serve in the best interest of the client by valuing the worth of all persons, providing empathetic high quality massage therapy and to practice with integrity and diligence.
